Mama, can I sleep in your bed?

Last night as I was getting ready for bed I noticed something laying on my side of the bed. As I got closer I saw that it was a strip from my label maker. Apparently Leah got a hold of it and printed out a note to me:

LOL! She was sound asleep in her bed when I got the note but if she was still awake I would have let her crawl into bed with me.

Ewww......That tooth must come out!

Oh mylanta! One of Leah's front teeth is extremely loose (the front tooth on the right) and is a twist away from coming out. The problem? She won't twist it out!!! Argh!!! It's driving me nuts! I keep telling her, "Dude, that suckers gotta come out! It's all jacked up!" but all that does is send her into a fit of giggles.

It takes a lot to really gross me out but the way this tooth looks is really making my stomach turn. These pictures do not do the grossness justice.

I am so tempted to sneak up on her and yank that thing out!

Birthday Party!!

For Leah's 7th birthday she wanted a party at Sweet and Sassy. This place is a little girl's heaven! Nothing but girlie things and spa treatments!

She picked the "Fashion Diva" birthday package. First, Leah and her guests changed into some fancy outfits then had their hair and make-up done.

Then it was time for the girls to practice walking the runway.....
(I loved her 70's inspired outfit!)

Time for a group picture!

The birthday girl!

I have a scrapbook of Leah's first year. I took her to have pictures made every month and it's so neat to see how much she changed! Leah loves to look at the scrapbook and always wants me to tell her about "her adventures when she was a baby". It's a neat little tradition we've started and she loves to hear about the day she was born.

I love my little girl!

My Star Student

A few weeks ago Leah was the Star Student of the Week in her 1st grade class. I really like her teacher's approach to this. She has all the other students write something nice about the star student and they make a small poster with them. It was really cool to see what her classmates liked most about her.

Leah's week to shine happened to fall on the same week as her 7th brithday.

Another Valentine's Day in the bag

Yesterday was Valentine's Day and it was pretty awesome. David totally surprised me with a spa package (1 hour massage, facial, and pedicure/hand treatment) and I am so ready to cash it in! Mama needs a good massage!

I spend a lot of time at Leah's school volunteering and yesterday was no different. I am the social room mom and I was in charge of the V-day party and it went off without a hitch. I planned an edible craft (pretzels dipped in milk chocolate) and in true fashion my child somehow managed to get chocolate all over her. For the regular craft they children made a mailbox for their valentine's (I spent a few days covering cereal boxes with construction paper) and for the game we played Valentine bingo. Fun!

Ok, so after my big surprise from David I really felt like I needed to get him something. We typically do not exchange gifts on V-day but after what I got, well, I had to do something. Here is the problem; I have no clue what kind of stuff to get him. He works so much that any downtime he has he spends with his girls. No hobbies, really. So......I bought him the k'nex speed demon coaster. I remember him saying how cool those were and luckily he was happy with his gift. Woot!

Miss Leah's gift was the Pixo's micro Show'n Glow Studio. She loves Pixo's so that was an easy choice.

Yay for V-day!

It's finally sinking in....

My daughter, Leah, turned seven last week. Seven! It's such a cliche but seriously, time has gone by so fast. The first five years after she was born there were so many questions about when we would have our next child. No one believed us when we said we were done. It's hard to explain....after we had her everything just felt complete.

I rarely hear questions about having another child now. And still, after seven years, everything is complete.

Welcome to my blog!
